Designed to provide the correct level of support without overloading players during the season.

Magenta Elevate provides ambitious players with access to high-quality, professional coaching, physical development and performance education, alongside their school/college and club rugby, to prepare for senior, county, academy or uni rugby.

Maidenhead RFC and Claires Court School – A Partnership Built on the “Heart of the Game”: Supporting our Magenta Future
For over 40 years, Maidenhead Rugby Club (MRFC) and Claires Court have shared more than just a postcode; they have shared a vision for developing the next generation of players.
This relationship is part of the “emotional infrastructure” explored in the Maidenhead Rugby Club “Heart of the Game” documentary series fronted by Will Greenwood.
The next step in this relationship is the school’s decision to be the financial sponsor for the Magenta Elevate programme, a year-round development pathway for players aged U15–U18. By funding facility time, kit, and specialist input on nutrition and psychology, Claires Court directly supports the club’s goal of player retention. This investment ensures our young talent has every reason to stay and grow with MRFC as they transition into adult rugby.
This commitment is mirrored by a significant expansion of the school’s physical infrastructure. In September 2026, Claires Court will open its second and third performance gyms on the school’s central site. These new facilities provide dedicated, separate training spaces for Sixth Form and Senior girls, mirroring the elite facilities already established for Senior Boys at the Ray Mill Road campus. Just as the Ray Mill Road site serves the boys’ programme and acts as the primary centre for land-based training for Maidenhead Rowing Club juniors, these new gyms ensure that every student has access to the highest standards of strength and conditioning (SAQ).
These ties are anchored by generations of shared history. The Carter family represents three generations shaped by the MRFC junior pathway: Claires Court’s Deputy Head Sport, Simon Carter, his father Alan, his brother Paul, and most recently his son Toby, have all come through the club. Similarly, Principal Emeritus James Wilding, who played his first game for Maidenhead in 1972, led our mini and junior section for thirteen years, seeing his own sons, Tom and Ed, rise through the age groups.
Now supported by the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC), Claires Court remains a “protective sanctuary” for the values of service and community that define us. Together, we are ensuring that the legacy of players like Issy Phipps is honoured through comprehensive physical and mental support, keeping the “heart of the game” beating for generations to come.
